Playground to Plate Program Banner

Playground to Plate®

Food Garden Program

Delivered by a professional garden educator, Playground to Plate® is an engaging food garden program designed to help children build a positive, hands-on relationship with food from infancy through to school age. Inspired by the simple joy of growing up in grandparents’ gardens, picking tomatoes straight from the vine, digging in the soil, and learning through nature, the program brings those same timeless experiences into early childhood learning. Children are encouraged to plant, nurture, harvest, and share, developing not only an understanding of where food comes from, but also a deep sense of connection, curiosity, and care for the natural world.

Changes to the Child Care Subsidy

The 3 Day Guarantee — What does it mean for your family enrolling in 2026?

From 5 January 2026, the Australian Government is updating the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to guarantee at least 3 days of subsidised early childhood education and care per week. This means that all CCS-eligible families will receive at least 72 hours per fortnight (3 days/week) of subsidised childcare regardless of their work, study, or volunteering status.

As a government approved childcare provider, Fairfield Early Learning Centre ensures eligible families can access the new 3 Day Child Care Subsidy Guarantee, helping make high-quality early education more accessible and affordable.
